Workshops and Special Events

Prenatal Breastfeeding Workshop

Explore ways to get breastfeeding off to a great start. This class uses a presentation, videos and hands on learning so all types of learners are engaged. Mothers are encouraged to bring their support person with them to attend at no additional cost. These workshops remain small in order to achieve a more personal and tailored class, so make sure to claim your spot!

Prenatal breastfeeding education has been shown to improve the mother’s chance of reaching her breastfeeding goal! This class will focus on the first few days of life, specifically immediately postpartum and in the hospital setting.

This breastfeeding workshop is taught by Darla.  Darla is a registered nurse certified in maternal newborn nursing. She is an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). Darla worked in the hospital setting for 8 years as a mother-baby nurse, stork nurse and labor and delivery nurse. In addition to her nursing background, Darla is also a 200 Hour RYT and she completed her Prenatal Yoga Training through the Prenatal Yoga Center of New York.

Gong Sound Bath

Sunday     10/21/18     5:30pm - 7:30pm     $25

This special event will be a combination of the powerful sound of Gongs, Singing Bowls, and magic Quartz Singing Pyramids.

Gong Sound Baths are the ideal way to relax and meditate but they also have amazing healing benefits. The power of gong and singing bowl vibrations deeply affects our mind, body, and soul.  It penetrates and stimulates every cell of our being - allowing us to reach a state of deep relaxation. The vibrations help with reducing stress and remove all blockages in the mind. The gong sound fully harmonizes and restores balance in our body as well as increases all regenerative processes.

During profound peaceful states of the mind, which are typically achieved during meditative phases, the body’s natural healing process is profoundly supported. The sound and resulting vibrations generated by the gongs and Himalayan singing bowls stimulate the theta brain frequencies that are commonly associated with deeper states of meditation. Heart and respiratory rates slow down, creating a favorable healing effect upon the body’s entire system.

We invite you all to come and enjoy a magical evening of Sound Vibration Healing!

The studio provides blankets, eye pillows, bolsters. Bring your own eye mask if you'd rather use that instead of an eye pillow (recommended).

Healthy Holidays: Detox Flow and Mindful Eating

Sunday 10/22/17 3:45 - 5:45 - 20$

Detox workshops pop up all over the place in January.  So let’s rethink this! Why not plan ahead and go into the holiday season with the intention of not getting toxic?

The workshop will begin with a discussion about old habits and barriers regarding the holidays; where we falter and where we triumph. Each individual will write down 5 steps they will take towards a healthier holiday.  Everyone will create a mantra for their intention.

The practice will include vigorous breath work and asana designed specifically to detoxify the body.

The workshop will end with a 20 minute savasana that includes shoulder and foot massages.

You will walk away focused, relaxed, cleansed and with a mantra to keep you true to your intention during the holidays.

The workshop also includes healthy recipe ideas for the holidays and a handout with the postures done during the workshop and how they specifically help to detoxify the body.
