Certified Yoga Instructor
My name is Jillian and I have been practicing yoga since 2008 and teaching since March of 2013. While I always enjoyed the “stretching” part of yoga, I embraced the “if it doesn’t hurt you’re not working hard enough” mentality. It wasn’t until I began experiencing severe hip and knee pain from an Army injury and 13 years as competitive cheerleader, that I was forced to back off of my usual high impact activities for something different. I would have never guessed the benefits that yoga could bring! Yoga allowed me to recover more quickly from hip surgery, getting me back on my feet, walking and running, in only a few short months.
Yoga was a lifesaver for me and developed my passion to share the amazing physical and mindful benefits that yoga can offer. Becoming yoga teacher has opened up new adventures and helped me experience yoga for more than just the asanas (postures). It also lead me deeper into my teaching journey. I hold the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YCEP) designation which allows me to teach anatomy & physiology, alignment and movement principals to other aspiring yoga teachers in training.
In addition to my work with Yoga I am also a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist.
Through massage I specialize in MFR related to injury prevention, recovery and pain management, and also focus on work with infants and pre-crawling babies. I am a certified Tummy Time! (TM) practitioner and also hold a MBA with a cognate in Accounting.
In my time at home I love spending time with my Husband, Daughter and our 4 dogs.
